Two former NBI officials claim that they have the evidences needed to prove the connection of De Lima with the drug lords from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa.
Former NBI Deputy Director Reynaldo Esmeralda favors the accusations of President Rodrigo Duterte against De Lima and her involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Esmeralda further stated that they have long been investigating De Lima and her alleged lover Dayan.
He also revealed that they possess evidences against De Lima however they did not reveal it before due to the connection of the senator with the former President Benigno Aquino III.
He claimed that the evidences they have would explain why the former Justice Secretary removed Bilibid 19 under the NBP and transferred it to the custody of the NBI except for Jaybee Sebastian.
Esmeralda previously released a CCTV footage where De Lima's former husband, Atty Plaridel Bohol and Napoles were seen together in the headquarters of NBI back in 2013.
Reynaldo Esmeralda, former Deputy Director for Intelligence and Ruel Lasala, also a former Deputy Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) were removed from their posts by Senator Leila De Lima on 2014 during her time as the Justice Secretary. De Lima removed the two due to their alleged involvement with Janet Lim Napoles, the mastermind behind the pork barrel scam claiming that the two were tipping information to Napoles.
Esmeralda also admitted that he used to be friends with the senator however eversince she started aiming for politics, their friendship started to crumble.
