President Rodrigo Duterte have been featured on the international media many times before. It all started when he topped the cover of the Time Magazine as "The Punisher", and just recently 60 Minutes have dubbed him as the "Dirty Harry of the Philippines".

On recent news, he have once again been featured on international media as NewsMaker have just featured the Philippine President, however contrary to the praises the citizens of the country is giving him, the reports described his war saying it has "gone too far."

"The Philippines firing squad, has the new president's war on drugs gone too far?" the reporter opened.

"He promised to crack down on the illegal drug trade and his supporters say he's delivering. Philippine's president Rodrigo Duterte has called on soldiers, police and even citizens to kill those involved in drug crimes," Reporter Andrea Sanke said.

"Now since he took office at the end of June, more than a thousand people have been killed or gone missing in what critics say are extra-judicial acts encouraged by a leader with no regards for human rights," she said.

She further on noted that Duterte have reaffirmed his order to shoot to kill drug suspects and will be given immunity from prosecution.

"Is his zero tolerance approach to the war on drugs is letting people get away with murder?" she further on probed.

Sanke have later on invited a guest from the Philippines, a political science professor from the De La Salle University where she inquired: "Why would a huge majority of the public want to see this kind of controversial iron-fisted leadership from the President?"

"Just a few months ago, the Philippines was considered as a beackon of liberal democracy in the East Asia," the professor answered noting that the Philippines was one of the oldest democracy in developing countries.

"But since the campaign period it seems that President Duterte was quite effective in communicating a central message," he said acknowledging Duterte's effortless way with the people during the time of campaign. 

"His central message, it was that the biggest problem in the Philippines is the lack of the rule of law and the proliferation of drugs and rampant criminality is a reflection of the fundamental problem and it has to be dealt with through draconian measure if necessary," he explained.

Furthermore he expressed his opinion saying that it was more than Duterte's campaign startegy that have led the people to favor him but the statics as well showing that the crimes in the country was truly a problem.

He also noted the President's promise of eradicating crime in 6 months. Furthermore, he noted that despite the outcries of many other countries in regards the said extra-judicial killings, vast majority of the citizens have given their full support on Duterte.

Later on, the show discussed how worse the drug problem in the country is wherein the professor later on brought up the asian value that focuses more on the community rather than an individual's interest. 

Furthermore, he also emphasized that the vast majority of the Filipinos favors Duterte's way and explained that it is more comprehensive compared to what the international media shows.
