Looks like it's going to be a good year for policemen, soldiers and other uniformed services after all with Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno's announcement of a salary hike on Monday, August 23.
Diokno confirmed last Monday that the administration will move forward with Executive Order 201 and send it back to the Congress. "Our preference is for Congress is to adopt it as a joint resolution," Diokno said.
He also explained that the funding for the increase has been incorporated into the respective office budgets, while Php39 billion is now being allocated for the other uniformed services.
It can be recalled that this is one of Duterte's promises during the campaign.
