Despite the ongoing Senate hearing on the alleged extrajudicial killings, there isn't much progress yet on the  increasing number of casualties by the anti-drug campaign. As an overwhelming part of masses support the administration's war against drugs, many oppositions have also surged into protests.

One of these is a protest held in New York City last August 23 in front of the Philippine Consulate on Fifth Avenue. Protesters held signs such as "Drug dealing and drug use should not be reasons for execution!”; "Stop the killings" and Duterte is a mass murderer". Surprisingly, the protest was attended not only of Filipinos but also some foreigners.
